Museum Towards the end of the '60s, the great success of the plastic materials, the material’s technical characteristics, as well as the CEO’s, Mr. Franco Mazzuchelli, feeling for contemporary art, pushed Mazzucchelli 1849 to create the “Polimero Arte”. Thus in Castiglione Olona a centre for aesthetic research has been established: a special lab fitted with and taking advantage of top of the range technologies and qualified personnel, where artists work and are asked to create their masterpieces with 'plastics'. In 2004, following the agreement reached between the Municipality of Castiglione Olona and Mazzucchelli 1849, the MAP, Museo di Arte Plastica (Museum of Plastic Art), was created within the exceptional framework offered by the Palazzo dei Castiglioni in Monteruzzo. “Old” and “new” meet and mingle: the art collection of the “Polimero Arte” is the key and focus on which the museum is based and as such, if possible, making the already existing bond between Castiglione Olona, the artistic tradition and Mazzucchelli 1849 even stronger.
